I'm sure you have already read blogs and articles on this tragedy, so I will just say to send you thoughts and prayers out to the folks in the Twin Cities and they work through the terrible bridge collapse.

We all know the importance of road upkeep. I feel that bridges should be even more important. I live in the DFW metroplex and even though I am use to the highway system here it worries me sometimes driving on the high rise exit/entrance ramps and the long bridge over the lake East of Dallas (forget name).
The upkeep of these roadways & bridges must improve. I know the collapses are few and far in between, but they actually should never happen. Hopefully this will open some eyes.

I totally agree with you on the whole upkeep business. I remember last winter when it iced, I counted the bridges I drive over to and from work and that was 7. I can't even begin to count the ones I drive over for work trips. Sheesh.
