X-Mas Eve at DC House

So it has been a very busy day for both of us. I fortunately was able to take the day off to prepare for my mother-in-law's arrival (doing housework).

She made it safely after a couple delays and shortly after she and my wife got home we went to Dana and Clark's place for a Christmas Eve get together (Dana is Heather's mother).

It was fun to be there and it was great to see Louie and Angela there. I also really enjoyed being around Winston, the family Great Dane.

We all just ate and chilled telling stories and playing with the dogs. The only bummer was that we didn't play Wii. No big deal.

Thanks Dana and Clark for having us over and thanks for the gifts.

Merry Christmas, all.

Product Placement

Man I just don't get it. Recent shows seem like they are being bombarded with certain ads. Some of the shows I watcj that this is happening with are: Knight Rider (Ford), Terminator (Dodge), Eureka (Degree Deoderant and Biggest Loser (Extra, 24hr Fitness, Subway, Brita and who knows what else)

This is irritating. One of the worse things was GM placing themselves into the Transformers Movie. It is very shameless, but all I can do is complain about it.

Curious to see how much worse it can get.

My $0.02.

Alias, Lost, Now Fringe

JJ Abrams had dropped another one. The man of the production company, Bad Robot, brings you Fringe where a group including an FBI agent played by Anna Torv (Secret Life Of Us), a nutty scientist played by John Noble (Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers and The Return Of The King), and his genius son Joshua Jackson (Dawson's Creek and The Skulls) battle against bizarre phenomenon.

It jumps you in crazy loops as only JJ brings. It is interesting, fascinating and funny. I highly recommend checking it out.

Autumn Hurts: The Orthro Man

So I finally got the results of the MRI and it came out normal. Some swelling, but no cartilage loose.

So an appointment is made to see an orthopedic doctor. It went to see him yesterday and surprise, he doesn't know what is going on either.

So he injects me with a steroid and I am surpose to stay off my feet for a few days (very tought to do).

I asked is the steroids doesn't help then what else could it be? They were sure, but they think athritis (spelling).

This give me an ever better respect for what Heather deals with. I am sorry Heather for not fully understanding your condition.

I'll be glad when they figure out what is going on. Feel like I am on a episode on House.

More later.

Autumn Hurts: After MRI

Damn the Doc.

He was surposed to contact me yesterday on the results of my MRI, but I received no call. What the heck? I really want to know what is going on and if I may need surgery. Tired of sitting in pain every other day.

I guess I will have to call him on Monday. I really hope there is a reason and solution for this issue. Please help me hope for the best.

The Only Dude

Movie Review of THE WOMEN

1.5 Stars

I don't usually rate this low, it does deserve it.

This remake of the 1939 classic was a major disappointment with a few sparks of HaHa.

Out of the all star cast the only good performance was done by Cloris Lechman. Bette Midler work was dull and unoriginal.

The for mail women of the film (Ryan, Benning, Messing and Pinkett Smith), they were very disappointing. Geez Debra, need some sun?

Anyways, this show nearly knocked me out, but I can get.a shirt that says "I Survived The Women Movie"

I do not recommend this film.

SamCrow And Connor

So the fall premieres started and the first two I saw were FX's Sons Of Anarchy and FOX's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

The second season of Terminator was great with the machine sent by John from the future going bad and hunting Connor herself. This shows a new side of John that gets him closer to his future persona. Great season premiere.

As for FX's new original series, the Sons Of Anarchy stars two of my favorites. Katie Segal (Married w/ Children and 8 Simple Rules) plays the widow and mother of members of SamCrow. SamCrow is a gang of motorcyclists who rival against other gangs like the Mayans and the Arian Brotherhood. This group is led by a character played by Ron Perlman (Hellboy) and he shows a lot of promise for the show. Overall I feel that this show will be a great show to stay with. Maybe the great replacement for The Shield. Check it out.

Autumn Hurts

So, I don't know if you remember I was down for 6 weeks with a bad knee injury resulting in a surgery and physical therapy. Well now my ankle is giving me issues and it is on the same leg.

My bosses are freaking out that I will not be around for the NSO starting this Wednesday. I don't think it is that serious, but I will see at my appointment tomorrow (Monday). Hope for the best.

Becoming a Joke

Well this show was already a joke even though it became the world's biggest talent show.

Americas Got Talent is a bizarre show that is surpose to present the next big act of the year. The first two years were okay producing young singer Bianca Ryan and Ventrilloquist, Terry Fator. This third season made the show way worse and Jen and I decided to not watch this show next year.

Sometimes a show goes to far. America's Got Talent is definately one of them. I can see why Regis Philbin and Brandy left after the first season.

American Idol is another except for the auditions.

Angel Life: Da Loaner

MEET ANGEL'S TEMPORARY REPLACEMENT

So we took Angel (The Civic) to Jen's sister and brother-in-law for them to see it and Stephen wanted to look under the hood. He plays around with it and noticed that something was missing. There is no freaking lever or latch to release the hood!!!! What the heck?

So Angel is currently back at CarMax to get that reinstalled along with some paint work on the front bumper. Can I say that CarMax rules? They are a good company to get a nice used car from.

Anyways, in the meantime we were given the 2007 Dodge Nitro, SUV. It is very nice looking. Of course there were limitations on having this vehicle. We can only drive it 100 mile per day and it must be returned with the same gas level as when it left, which really sucks for a SUV because they are gas guzzlers. So, I will drive this vehicle to and from work since I am only driving to one destination these next couple of months and Jen will cruise in Baron (Our Taurus).

We should get angel back hopefully Wednesday or Thursday.

Angel Life: Passing The Torch

TO
From Intrepid To Civic

Yes, we went out and got a new car. It's a 2006 Honda Civic and Jennifer is very happy with it. This will move me from the sauna, Dodge Intrepid (The Old Angel) to our Ford Taurus (Baron).

Angel is a much smoother car to drive with very nice maneuver ability. Jen says she can move around much better in this car which could get crazy, but I know she has full control of her driving skills.

This car should go the long haul being a Honda and all. Well hopefully. I am now just please to be in a car with the electrical & A/C system working accurately. Well wish us luck with this one. I'm sure it will do very well.

Power Ranger & The Photographer

Another new show that started this July called Flashpoint, Fridays on CBS.

Starring Enrico Colantoni (Just Shoot Me & Veronica Mars), Amy Jo Johnson (Mighty Morphing Power Rangers & Felicity ) and Hugh Dillon (Assault On Precinct 13).

Here is a discription:
When the Strategic Response Unit arrives, the rules change. The bad guy's caught - he just doesn't know it yet. The SRU, inspired by Toronto's Emergency Task Force, is a handpicked team of elite cops. High risk is their business and these men and women do it all: rescue hostages, bust gangs, defuse bombs. Talk down suicidal teens. Protect the Pope. They handle state-of-the-art weapons - sniper rifles, flash-bang grenades, tasers. They climb the sides of buildings. See through walls. But they're different from other SWAT teams. Because their arsenal also includes a gift for words.

It is worth a peak.

It's Back

Alright my new favorite show is back, BURN NOTICE returns.

If you have not seen this show you must check it out.

Starring Jeffery Donovan, Gabrielle Anwar, Bruce Campbell & Sharon Gless. A show about a CIA agent who gets a Burn Notice, which means he has been disavowed and black noticed.

Season One was his quest to find who burned him. Now in Season Two he has talked to the person who burned him (on the phone) and in order to met them he must do some jobs for them.

Check it out. Thursdays at 9pm on USA.

Say A Prayer: Drama

So, my mom makes it through her surgery and now her job and insurance want to act up.

I won't go into detail, but it is not surprising given how insurance & financial companies are. They just don't really care about the person.

I am asking for you all to continue to pray for us (especially her) in that a solution comes along.

Say A Prayer: Surgery

So, my mother has had her surgery and it sounds like it went well. She will have to go through radiation and most likely chemo for about 6 months.

They are going to watch over her for the night to make sure she is fine then she will be sent home.

Thank you all for your thoughts & prayers and hopefully they are able to completely clear it all out.

Keep us in you minds.

Much love,
Wil

Hangout To Party

Well, I would like to thank everyone for coming to our 4th of July get together. We had a ball playing games and chilling with folks.

The highlight of the night was after I dominated Kelly and Win on Mario Kart Wii the duo of CBVB owned them in spades. We were not initally going to play, but Kelly decided to talk stuff probably because I was celebrating my race wins. I was cool. What is the lesson we learn: Don't talk it to Wil unless you can definately beat him.

The only disappointment was that we did not see any fireworks. That's 2 years straight. I know I sound like a baby, but I love fireworks. Oh well, I guess I will no longer suggest fireworks. I will see if it will just happen.

Oh and one more thing. No more fireworks in my backyard, Win.

K that's my tale on the 4th.

Overnight Shopping

So the wife and I decide to do some overnight shopping at Wal-Mart. When we arrived we notice a security officer who was approaching people like a greeter or something. It kind of creeped us out. I mean he was talking to this couple who were leading up their cart FULL of groceries in to their vehicle. I now think that maybe he just new the people, but I don't know.

Anyways we do our shopping and we start to head out. Luckily we did not get intercepted by the security dude. So we are all good. Wasn't sure how I would have handled that, but oh well.

Pretty creepy situation.

Anyways, have a great 4th.

Just an update on my mother. They have determined that she has cancer, but it is in a very early stage.

That makes it better be cause they can remove the lump and hopefully after some therapy she will make it through this. Her surgery is this Tuesday and I will keep you all posted.

So thank you to those of you who kept her in your thoughts and prayers.

WALL.E

Grade: A-

This was a very well done movie after seeing Ratatouille last year. I found this film as entertaining as the previous PIXAR films including The Incredibles, Cars and Finding Nemo.

I also likes the messeges in the film. I somewhat wonder if the folks saw and understood the messages. No matter.

The film was great and the short was actually better. The best since the Chubb-Chubbs.

This film is definitely a must see.

WIPEOUT

Well it's summertime, season finales happened for the remaining shows that survived the writers strike.

Now it is time for the summer shows. A couple big shows return including So You Think You Can Dance & Americas Got Talent.

They also introduced some new show and one that stood out for me is Wipeout. This show was brought in by ABC and it is hilarious. You have to at least check out at least one episode. It airs on Wednesday Night.

This will be an interesting summer.

Get Smart

Grade A

Starring Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway, Dwayne Johnson & Alan Arkin.

A great movie release of a very funny TV show. For those of you who do not know the show, Maxwell Smart, who started at Control as an analyst, achieves his dream by becoming a special agent. He is a bumbling idiot, but somehow he always get his man.

Carell was a great choice for this role as he gives an incredible performance (as usual).

Highly recommend seeing this film.

Hulk Smash

4 Stars

So we went out to see The Incredible Hulk this past Tuesday and I must say it was great. It was great to see Ed Norton in an intense film again. The last great film I enjoyed him in was American History X.

Tim Roth was another big surprise, too. He did a great as a skillful soldier with a great lust for power.

Liv Tyler was okay, but a bit annoying as Elizabeth Ross, love interest of Banner. She seem like she was reliving Aewen (I could never spell that right).

Overall the film was well done. Still don't know if it was a sequel or not, but definitely better then the first.

ALOHA

Alright. Don't get mad, but I went to Hawaii early May. It was fun, but it didn't start off that well.

We are at the airport on Saturday afternoon and after several hours of waiting they announced to us that the flight was cancelled and we were moved to Sunday morning. Now that sucked because we were looking forward to spending a lot of time in Honolulu on that Saturday.
We finally took off and after a 3 hour lay over in LAX we finally arrived in Hawaii.

The project was a little rough given it was our first time on this particular project (Best Buy Mobile), but we did well. At least the store was satisfied, which BTW they had a great staff that assisted us.

We were able to get some fun in as we went to Pearl Harbor & the USS Arizona Memorial, Chinatown, Diamond head Mountain and a Luau at Paradise Cove.

The only thing we didn't do was Island Hopping mainly because we could not afford it. Maybe next time with my wife (Oh yes, I do plan to return to Hawaii).

Pictures Soon.

Golden State

Wow, we (the Project Team) take a trip to Sunnyvale, CA for what is called a Shakedown. This is when a new project is introduced and us along with 2 other teams. The project when well so the rest of the year should go well (at least for that project).

The fun started on the last day when we headed up to San Francisco for some site seeing. We started out at Pier 33 to go see The Rock (Alcatraz Prison). Of course we had to get thereby ferry. Some of the guys were sea sick, but made it okay. Alcatraz was very cool to see, but the best part was at the cellhouse, where we went through a audio tour explaining all the parts of the cellhouse.

We also saw a great deal of Seagulls including a few that would follow the boat. Pretty creepy.

Next we went to San Fran's Hard Rock cafe on Pier 39 where we had some saweet steak & burgers. Then we went to the store to collect on some Hard Rock Merchendise.

We later went in search for our travel mates to the head out to the great music store called, Ameoba. Before Ameoba, Jay & I went to one other thing.

Next was the famous Lombard Street. If you are not familiar of this street, it is the most curvy street in one block. Oh and it is steep. Man it took us a very long time to find this street, but after some help with a personal banker and mapquest we found it.

Once we got there Jay opted to get out of the car and take pictures. He didn't want to actually drive it. "What?", I said, "I'm freaking driving this. The speed limit was 5 MPH, but I went 15. I know terrible, but it was fun.

We later went to the Ameoba Super Music Store. Man, what an amazing place to see. It can get crazy for you can spend hours in the store and not spend too much money. Very nice discounts on CDs, DVD, and even Vinyl. All I got was one DVD set, Samurai Jack Season 1 for $7.50. Very nice. I plan to get more whenever we return to the Bay Area.

So San Francisco was nice. Don't think I would live there, but it is great to visit.

Gettin Old

Man oh Man the time is getting near. For some of you who don't know, my birthday is coming up in early February. I will be 35 years old. I'm not upset about it in fact I am pretty excited. The only worry I may have is that just that brings me to being closer to d-day. I know that is very silly, but that is my only worry.

I am looking forward to getting older. Just more the curiosity of what it will be like. I see folks around me and some of them seem to do well in their old age. I just spoke to a co-worker yesterday who announced he was 60 years old. He looks really good and live his life to the fullest. I would like to do that and one major thing I need to do is lose weight.

Me and Jen are getting back on track with that and we will make our goals. We have other things we would like to do, but we will make sure not to overwhelm. Well I have a lot to do today so I will jump off of here.
