So I did my first volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity. The house was in Fort Worth and the main thing we did was landscaping. Boy it was hard work in some serious hot weather. It was fun though and I may go it again.

We met the new owner and she was very nice. She brought us some water, soda, and snacks. Very sweet woman. If you haven't done anything like this, you should try it at least once. Very nice.

I have two more volunteer programs coming up in September and October, if they do not cancel.

A very unusual film full of fantasy, adventure, action & comedy. Stardust brings on a interesting cast with Claire Danes, Charlie Cox, Robert De Niro & Michelle Pfeiffer. Basically a young man searches a far of land to find a fallen star for the woman he loved and pretty much get more than he bargained for. I found this movie to be very entertaining with more comedy than I expected. De Niro was the best in the film.

I definitely recommend checking it out. Not sure if it is an owner. Thinking on it.

Meet Up

So I went to my first Meetup group yesterday. I was for lovers of boardgames. It was a lot of fun and I plan to return. They meet once a month and is pretty much a group of 30 or more.

On my first day I played a full game of scrabble with 4 other ladies. Man it was tiring. I was second to last in scoring which was pretty good except I was about 60 points behind the next person. You wouldn't believe how many Scrabble dictionaries were there.

Along with scrabble, there were other interesting games that I never heard of. I don't even remember the names. I plan to take a couple of our games there next time.

It was fun.

The Bourne Ultimatum

Well I'm not sure is the series is over, but it was very good from beginning to now. Damon, Stiles & Allen was very impressive in their performances and the action scenes were outstanding.

In movies like this there are always connections even with the characters. My wife tells me that Nikki and Jason might have an even deeper past, but I'm not sure. It would make some since though.

The assassins sent out on this movie were great as well, especially the fight scene in Tangier, Morocco.

I'm not sure if they will think of doing another sequel. I'm not sure what they can think of since Bourne found pretty much all of his answers. If there is one I will definitely see it.

This is an owner I do recommend everyone to see it in theaters.

Gated Community: Trees, Trees, Trees

Well the gate is still up and running and surprisingly no one had crashed into one since the construction of it. Now the complex is working on something else, landscaping. Recently during a walk with Tyson, I noticed an increase in small trees around the place. Mostly in the dog walking areas. Not sure what is their objective there is. Maybe just for scenery. Now they destroyed the foliage (did I spell that right?) around the main pool and is planting new stuff. There is a wicked smell of something coming up from it. I hope it pass quickly.

Well, that is the only update I have on the community. We plan to move, but we don't know where yet. I'll keep you posted.

I'm sure you have already read blogs and articles on this tragedy, so I will just say to send you thoughts and prayers out to the folks in the Twin Cities and they work through the terrible bridge collapse.

Okay I have more.

We all know the importance of road upkeep. I feel that bridges should be even more important. I live in the DFW metroplex and even though I am use to the highway system here it worries me sometimes driving on the high rise exit/entrance ramps and the long bridge over the lake East of Dallas (forget name).

The upkeep of these roadways & bridges must improve. I know the collapses are few and far in between, but they actually should never happen. Hopefully this will open some eyes.
