Prime Returns

So with my TV service being completed, I stumbled on to a new network with a new show. Transformers Prime showing on the HUB Network.

It looks pretty cool and i was very excited when I saw Peter Cullen and Frank Welker together again as Optimus Prime and Megatron. Another familiar name/voice, Jeffrey Combs as Ratchet. Combs played multiple roles on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. One of my favorite guest stars of the show.

At first I thought this was only going to be a 5 part series, but they announced that an actually series will begin in February 2011.

Sweetness!

3.5 stars.

They Shootin'

So I went out with a friend of mine as he taught me how to shoot. We met up with his friend, Joe, who welcomed me. I learned a good deal about guns. I started with a 22, then a 9mm, a 45, then 3 different rifles. It was pretty fun and yes, I'd probably go again someday.

Back In It

So I did it! I returned to school.......College that is to achieve my degree. Before I was going for a BS in Management Computer Systems @ the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Now I will be pursuing a Education.

Since it was so long ago, I have to back track and start at the Community College level by attending Tarrant County College. I heard some good things about this school so I will dive in and see how I do.

Wish me luck.

Football '10

I don't know what it is, but I am very stoked about this Football season. I'm not sure if I share thoughts with the commentators when they say that Green Bay is a strong prediction for the Super Bowl. I would loose it if they do make it and come down here to DFW. I say DFW because the Cowboys do not play football in Dallas. They play in a suburb call ARLINGTON!!!! About 20 miles west of Dallas near Rangers Stadium and Six Flags Over Texas. Anyways, If I had the money and Green Bay made the Super Bowl I would definately go, but watching the game from home is just as good and more comfortable.

I am very excited about this season. It feel like a good one where a lot of teams will be close to each other in the standings. I'm also looking forward to Fantasy Football (as I am every year). I think I will perform even better than last year, where I finished 5th. I know that's not saying much, but usually I finish 9th out of 10 or 12 teams so last year was quite a move forward. I looking for 2nd or 3rd, but it will be rough. I finished 1st in 2 other leagues and I hope to repeat those.

I have no prediction for this years Super Bowl, but I will place the Packers as strong possibility.

Enjoy the season, folks..............

Visiting the In-Laws

So this past week(end) Jen and I took a trip up to Minnesota to visit her family. The drive was a bit exhausting, but fun rolling with my wife and the dogs. BTW, thanks Jen for setting up the pit stop in KC, we really needed that.

We visited with some of the folks up there including Grandma Crouch, the Cabonaras (Don't worry I'm not tired of seeing you guys yet, ;)), Tonya, Andrea and of course Jen's immediate family.

One of the big parts of the visit was for Cooper and Tyson to meet (Bella tagged along). Man that was a rough and entertaining event. They played well and sometimes faught. We later determined that the fighting was caused by food and toys. Live and learn. There were occasions that Tyson would come to the rescue of Bella, even when she didn't need it. The most entertaining thing to me was when both Tyson and Cooper decided to gang up on Te'. Didn't quite work out as they hoped. I think that if Aleisha hadn't intervened, Te' would have messed them up.

One of the other cool visits were to the Hubbell House in Mantorville, MN. This was a very nice resturant Grandma Crouch took us to after church. Great food and vegatarian/vegan friendly. I highly recommend folks to check out this place if you haven't already.

We returned home with a lot of goodies given to us by Grandma Crouch, which I'm sure Jenny will put to use. She's great at that. I'll admit that I was very nervous transporting all of that glass for over 15 hours, but all survived the trip.

I was great to see you all. It has been a long time and we hope to see you all again more often.

Momma Crouch: Looking forward to seeing you in October.

Dave C.: Looking forward to crushing in fantasy football.

Aliesha: Hope to see you down here very soon.

Beauty Without Equal

Prince Of Persia - B+

Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina.

This film was very intreging with great cinematography and non-stop action. This is on of the few films that did the video game justice if not better. Gyllenhaal played a very convincing action character mixed with his standard dry humor.

I was worried that I wouldn't enjoy this film, but was glad I was proven wrong. Gemma was pretty bland, but her beauty definately made up for it. Molina was pretty funny and help keep the movie alive.

I do recommend folks see this movie, but no preasure.

Sad Time L&O

So I got word that my favorite crime drama, Law & Order, is leaving the air after 20 years. It seems that the big move from Friday to Monday nights had a drastic effect on it's ratings. I suppose so given that it would be up against CSI: Miami, the master of Monday nights along with CBS great comedy line up.

Law & Order wasn't the only Monday show to fall. Truama and Heroes also have been axed by NBC. Chuck was able to stay on the roster and make it to the 2010-2011 season.

It shows that NBC is having it rough, but they did announce a new Law and Order will emerge, but this time it's based in Los Angeles. What night is still unknown.

Of course, I will check this out, but nothing will match the NYC L&O's.

We will miss you Law & Order.

Cya in the fall.

New Cherry Popped: Gas Grilling

So we wanted to get a new grill since our last grill ($20 charcoal) fell apart. Jen really wanted to get a gas grill, but I was hesitant for 2 reasons: price and safety. She was so excited to get one and I really hate saying no to her so I gave in (one month later) and every so often we went to price grills.

We agreed that since this will be an investment we will count it as out 10th anniversary gift. Well our anniversary is in late May, but with the weather improving here in North Texas and people already grilling, we just couldn't wait (or at least Jen couldn't :) ). So a couple of days ago we went and bought one.

Now, it's not the prime one we want, but it's a good start. I built it Friday, got the tank and some consultation on operation (I need to be very well informed) yesterday. And finally got the grill to ignite (after an hour attempts).

Very stoked now. It will be a great thing. The cooking will start in a few hours.

Later...........

Typical Scorcese

Shutter Island - 3 Stars

So we went to see Shutter Island this past Sunday and I'll have to say that it was not that different from any other Martin film. He and Leonardo work very well. Definitely, a strong actor pet of Scorcese.

It was great to Max Von Sydow and Mark Ruffalo because it has been a long while. Plus, Kingsley did great in his role.

Nice film to see. Check it out if you like.

Decision Made

So, a decision has been made. Not quite sure what to think about the decision. I'm actually speechless. Well maybe not completely speechless. A thought that somewhat run through my mind is how the other person may feel. Now the thing I wonder is the future of my team. Let's hope at least we still mesh well.

Time Change

So, for the second year in a row we had DST (spring forward) earlier than usual. Yesterday and today folks went on and on complaining about the time change, lost of sleep was the big one.

Come on people, this has been happening for decades. We should be use to this by now.

Just another thing for folks to complain about, which gives me something to complain about so I guess thanks.

I guess. ;)

I'm done.

Redbox Night I

So while I am recovering from my doctor and dentist apointments, we decided to make Saturday night a RedBox night. The three films are Sorority Night, Good Hair and The Invention of Lying.

Sorority Night (2.5 of 5) was the first film because Jen only wants to see scary films during the day. Yup. This film was you typical teen/college type slasher film like Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Valentine, etc. It was an okay film. It was tough to figure out who was the killer and til this time I can not figure out why the killer became the killer.

Definately a rental if you are interesting in this type a film. Not a first choice for me, but it was an okay film. Check it out if ya want.

Film #2 was Good Hair by Chris Rock, where he goes to different people and ask them questions about their hair experience. People including Nia Long, Ice T, Mya Angelou, Raven-Simone, etc. He also talked to various famous hairdressers and average folks. It's a fascinating documentary where you are reminded of some things if you are part of this world and you learn something new. Very funny and informative film. Check it out.

What is a Centrist?

"CENTRISTS espouse a 'middle ground' regarding government control of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on the issue, they sometimes favor government intervention and sometimes support individual freedom of choice.

Centrists pride themselves on keeping an open mind, tend to oppose 'political extremes,' and emphasize what they describe as 'practical' solutions to problems."

New Year, New Start

So it is now 2010 and it is time to start new things and make some changes. I know resolutions are considered stupid or unnecessary, but it's an okay way to set goals for yourself.

So for all you folks who have resolutions or goal, please work hard in achieving them and good luck.
